Laser Skin Resurfacing at SkinOvation
Gentle yet effective, LaseMD Ultra is a nonablative laser that improves skin from the inside out. This laser emits precise beams of light that are converted into heat energy below the skin’s surface, boosting collagen growth with minimal injury to the skin.
Your LaseMD Ultra treatment can be customized according to your needs. For example, a brief, low-intensity session helps you quickly achieve a glowing complexion for a big event. A series of medium-intensity treatments lets you gradually enhance your skin over a period of several months with little downtime, while an aggressive treatment can radically improve sun damage and fine lines in a single session.

What to Expect During Your LaseMD Ultra Treatment
At your appointment, you’ll lie down on a comfortable treatment table. Your provider will cleanse your skin and provide you with eye protection. For more aggressive treatments, they’ll apply a numbing cream to prevent any discomfort.
Next, they’ll pass the LaseMD Ultra handpiece over your skin for a period of 5–20 minutes. The number of passes depends on the intensity of the treatment. You’ll feel brief sensations of prickling, warmth and pressure, but no pain. Your session concludes with a rehydrating mask to soothe and cool your skin.
Recovery from LaseMD Ultra depends on the intensity of the treatment. Following a gentle session, you’ll experience minor redness lasting only a few hours. After a more intense treatment, your skin may appear red for several days and be rough in texture, similar to sandpaper; skin will gradually slough off over several days.
Once your skin has fully recovered, you’ll notice:
- Lightened hyperpigmentation
- Overall brighter complexion
- Reduced pore size
- Reduction in fine lines
- Smoother, younger-looking skin
Related Treatments
If laser skin resurfacing is not right for you, we offer other effective services to smooth and brighten the skin.
RF microneedling
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines the skin remodeling benefits of microneedling with radiofrequency energy for tighter, firmer skin and shorter downtimes. It can be used anywhere on the body to target hyperpigmentation, roughness, scarring and other common skin concerns.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel removes the damaged outermost layers of skin to produce a smoother, healthier complexion. A peel helps reduce or prevent acne, treats hyperpigmentation and fights multiple signs of aging. Choose a gentle peel to brighten dull-looking skin or a stronger formula for more dramatic results.
KeraLase Hair Restoration with LaseMD Ultra
KeraLase is a leading-edge hair restoration solution that combines LaseMD Ultra with KeraFactor, a topical serum containing growth factors for scalp revitalization and hair growth.
A quick 5–10 minute laser treatment is followed by an application of the serum; this serves to maximize its absorption into the scalp.
Most patients undergo 3–6 sessions scheduled every 2–4 weeks while simultaneously using the accompanying KeraFactor shampoo at home. This shampoo contains the same growth factor formula.
This treatment is designed for men and women in the early stages of hair loss who are beginning to notice a receding hairline or thinning hair.
How Much Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Cost?
The cost of laser skin resurfacing varies greatly depending on:
- The size and number of treatment areas
- Intensity of the treatment
- Add-on treatments (KeraLase or other cosmeceuticals)
- How many sessions you purchase (individual vs. package)

Laser Skin Resurfacing FAQ
How is LaseMD Ultra different from other lasers?
LasedMD Ultra is the only cosmetic laser of its kind. Its versatile 1927 nm wavelength is suitable for a large range of indications, from hyperpigmentation to fine lines and wrinkles, and unique components in its construction make Ultra treatments more customizable than any other 1927 nm laser available today.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of LaseMD Ultra treatments you need depends on your skin goals. For some people, the occasional session is enough to maintain their desired look; others may opt for a series of regular treatments every 4–6 weeks to address specific skin concerns.
Our patients typically see the greatest results after their third session. We’ll work with you to find the best treatment regimen for your skin!
How do I care for my skin after LaseMD?
Your recovery time may vary from just a few hours to 1 week depending on the intensity of your treatment. Wait 24 hours before washing your face; when you do, use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.
During the healing period, diligently apply moisturizer and sunscreen every day–even if you’ll be indoors–as your skin is highly susceptible to sunburn after a session. Refrain from using any exfoliating products or retinoids, and wait for your skin to completely heal before resuming your usual skin care routine.
If you’re undergoing KeraLase hair restoration, use the KeraFactor shampoo twice a day or as directed by your provider throughout treatment.
