Laser Hair Removal at Skinovation
Quick, painless and noninvasive, laser hair removal is a long-term solution for unwanted hair. A laser beam of heat energy targets melanin in hair follicles to briefly heat and damage them. As a result, the injured follicles have reduced ability to regenerate.
With repeated sessions, you may virtually eliminate hair in the treatment area. New hair growth will be too light to be noticeable, and any recurrences of darker hair can be addressed with occasional maintenance sessions.

At SkinOvation, all our laser hair removal treatments are performed by experienced medical aestheticians under the supervision of our team of registered nurses. What to Expect During Your Clarity II Treatment
At your appointment, you’ll lie down on a comfortable treatment table in a private room and be provided with eye protection. Your laser technician will move the Clarity II handpiece, which emits short, bright bursts of light, over the treatment area. A built-in cooling system keeps you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Most people don’t find the process painful and describe the sensation as a rubber band snapping against their skin. Your session will last from 15–60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Afterward, you may experience transient redness and a feeling of warmth. Otherwise, you’re able to go about your usual activities with zero downtime.
The results of your session will be visible 6–8 weeks later, once the treated hair follicles have produced more hair. This new hair growth will be finer, sparser and lighter in color.
At that point, you can schedule another appointment to continue targeting follicles in the area. Depending on how thick or treatment-resistant your hair is, you’ll see significant improvement after 3–5 sessions.
Related Treatments
The Clarity II laser system does more than simply remove hair. This powerful laser has a broad range of cosmetic applications to help you look and feel your best.
Discover the other skin concerns we can treat with Clarity II:
Hyperpigmentation
For clear, bright skin with fewer dark spots, a laser hyperpigmentation treatment is an ideal no-downtime solution. Over several treatments scheduled a few weeks apart, the laser will break up clusters of melanin in the skin, gradually fading the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
There’s no recovery involved, and treatment is virtually painless. Clarity II is FDA-approved to address:
- Age spots
- Sunspots
- Café-au-lait spots
- Moles
- Other benign pigmented lesions
Vascular lesions
A vascular lesion is a common abnormality in which a cluster of blood vessels is visible on the skin. It may appear as a red, blue or purplish flat or raised area of skin, and may be present at birth (a birthmark) or develop later in life. If you’re dissatisfied with the appearance of a vascular lesion, it’s easily treatable with the Clarity II.
The laser targets the abnormal veins and capillaries, causing them to break down and be absorbed and eliminated by the body. Rapid results can be achieved in a single session for small lesions; larger ones may require multiple appointments. In either case, no downtime is required.
The Clarity II treats a range of vascular lesions including:
- Broken capillaries
- Cherry angiomas
- Port wine stains
- Rosacea
- Spider veins
- Varicose veins

Laser Hair Removal FAQ
How do I prepare for my appointment?
The day before a laser hair removal session, you’re asked to shave the entire area being treated. Long hairs will attract heat energy from the laser, increasing the risk of burning your skin.
Is laser hair removal safe for my skin tone?
In the past, this procedure was only considered safe for people with hair much darker than their skin tone, so the laser could effectively target the melanin in their hair and not the skin. With the advent of new technologies such as Clarity II, laser parameters can be fine-tuned to treat all skin and hair types.
We achieve this by setting the laser at a lower intensity and increasing the overall number of sessions in order to slowly and safely reduce hair growth. For the best results, we recommend only visiting providers with experience treating your type of skin.
Is laser hair removal painful?
No. Most of our patients don’t report any discomfort. However, for anyone with skin sensitivity or for treating particularly sensitive areas, we can apply a numbing cream prior to treatment.
