Bellafill is a long-lasting dermal filler developed by Suneva Medical, industry leaders in regenerative cosmetic therapy. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of nasolabial folds, as well as certain types of acne scars.
Bellafill injections are formulated with a combination of collagen gel and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microscopic beads, which provide immediate, collagen-based support and stimulate collagen production over time. PMMA has been used safely for cosmetics and medical purposes for over 80 years.
Bellafill's long-term collagen-boosting effects are effectively reduce the appearance of smile lines for years. While most hyaluronic acid-based fillers last for 2 years at most, Bellafill fillers can provide effective results for up to 5 years.

What to Expect During Your Bellafill Treatment
Once you are comfortably seated in our treatment room, one of our specialists will begin by inserting a needle just beneath your skin near the outer edge of your nasolabial folds, and will then inject a small amount of Bellafill. They will repeat this process, moving a little closer to your nose each time, until one side of your face has been fully treated; they will then continue on the other side.
Once both sides have been treated, the procedure will be complete. There is no downtime associated with Bellafill injections; you will be free to immediately resume your daily activities.

Ask a QuestionPrior to a Bellafill treatment, you will need to undergo an allergy test. This test will take place at the end of your consultation, and will involve a very small amount of the Bellafill solution injected into the skin on your arm. Over the course of the following 4 weeks, you will be asked to monitor the skin around the injection site for signs of any allergic reaction. These would include tenderness, swelling, skin hardening, or rashes that last for more than 24 hours. You will also be asked to be alert to potential signs of systemic allergic reaction, such as joint or muscle pain. If you are symptom-free over this period, you will be able to safely undergo Bellafill injections.
Bellafill is formulated with a small amount of lidocaine, an anesthetic, which helps make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Injections typically cause only mild discomfort, and are well tolerated by most patients.
Bellafill fillers are low risk and very safe. Postmarket data has demonstrated that Bellafill fillers have an adverse effect rate of only 0.12%, which is comparable to that of most hyaluronic acid fillers on the market. The allergy test that all patients must undergo prior to treatment further ensures that patients will not experience allergic reactions to Bellafill treatments.
Bellafill injections are FDA-approved for treating certain types of acne scars. Its skin-plumping effects will effectively improve the appearance of facial skin that has developed textural irregularities due to widespread moderate-to-severe acne scarring. Bellafill is unlikely, however, to reduce the appearance of pigmented acne scars. Bellafill injections used to treat acne scars provide slightly less long-lasting results than those used to treat nasolabial folds. Typically, results will last up to 12 months.
